Moonlight in Her Eyes

Ok, so this is my finished picture of Shiba (FINALLY).
It took forever to get the background right, to make the bone and ribbon on her black ponytail look like a real bone and ribbon (which I still could not do correctly ), to make her ear and forehead pattern actually work, and to get the letters that spell out her name look like letters instead of looking like what happens if you take terrible handwriting and add color to it, and I was trying to do all of this and more in an incredibly simple art program known to anyone that owns a Windows computer as "Paint".
(Even though it IS a simple program, it's still pretty reliable, though, so I can't complain too much. )

Anyways, to explain what a 2D picture of Shiba couldn't...
-The mark on her forehead is actually a black, downward arrow. It adds the darker half of the design to her ears.
-She actually has TWO black ponytails, each with a tiny bone and purple ribbon to hold them up. The angle only allows one ponytail to be seen, plus just a little of her normally-colored hair.
-The strange wrappings on Shiba's hands and wrists are actually long bandages that act as fingerless gloves. They keep her hands safe from serious injury during battle, yet still permits her to use her hands and fingers.
-The long, golden lock of hair in front of her face is actually meant to cover her other eye.
-Shiba is, yes, barefooted. The only issue is that without a 3D effect to it, her paws/feet really don't look completely right.
-Her battle pants do actually stop just a little below her knees, but the black rings around the ends of her pants are actually supposed to appear puffy and... bulgy, as though she had rolled up her pants.
-The pale gray (or dark white) outline around her back is supposed to represent her aura energy.

Bio: A widowed, moon-worshipping man known as Tenet Lunam discovered a set of coughing, wheezing, whining noises one day while on a lonely walk through the forest.  He strayed from his path to investigate. Tangled in the vines of a thorny rose bush was a thin, torn-up bag. Tenet quickly worked to free the bag, which made the whining he heard get progressively worse. Hearing this, he carefully unwrapped the bag, which revealed a cub, too young to walk or speak. She was very skinny, possibly from not eating in a long while, covered in deep scars from the thorns, and she kept clawing herself and whining, which gave off the idea that she was allergic to roses.
Something inside of Tenet's heart felt pity on the young cub, and he hugged her closely. Right then and there, he whispered his vow in the girl's ear to heal and protect her for as long as he possibly could, then sealing his promise with a kiss before rushing back to his house, cradling the young one in his arms.
Upon returning home, Tenet created an herbal brew to clean the cub's scars, and then a drink to ease her allergic reaction to the roses. It was soon after he healed the child when he realized that she had been abandoned; no mother, no father, and no one to care for her. He felt sorrow for her, as this was the same problem that he suffered as a young, orphaned boy. He named the girl "Shiba", which means "lost beauty" in Affairian, the language of his people. He then dressed young Shiba in the remains of an old kimono and black battle pants that Mei Lunam, his deceased wife, had made (because the couple had expected a daughter). Tenet remembered his wife's dying words, begging him to attempt to find happiness after her passing from severe battle injuries. Finally, he would be able to keep that promise. A smile crossed Tenet's face as he embraced young Shiba Lunam.
It took only a few months to put healthy weight onto the cub, and in that time, she also learned to speak and walk. For years after recovery, Tenet trained young Shiba in battle. She became extremely agile and quick, and she could last in battle for longer than many average fighters.
Though due to her unhealthy past, Shiba didn't get the chance to grow to a normal height, and while she could handle herself beautifully in battle, she was not very strong, and the power behind her attacks were...average, to be honest, and these all became weak spots for her. So, Tenet realized it was time to give his daughter one last gift.
It is said that Tenet's worship to the moon helped to increase its shine, so he performed a careful ritual that involved strong herbal medicine, and the difficult-to-create white flame. Upon crating such a flame, Tenet drew a ring in the dirt, leading the flame to circle Shiba. The flame, given power from the herbs and moon's light, did something amazing.
Shiba now had the ability to gain power from the moon's light each night, as long as she meditated regularly, and maintained a pure heart. The only disadvantage was that the sun could take away her power, should she see it either directly or through reflected light.
So, Shiba went into town with her father the next day and bought a pair of special glasses to wear during the day that would protect her eyes, and a mask to wear during battle for the same purpose.
Somehow, the two of them were noticed. That night, upon returning home, Shiba and Tenet were attacked. Tenet was defeated (but not killed) in battle, and was dragged away. Upon attempting to rescue her father, Shiba became vulnerable, and was defeated and knocked unconscious.
Hours later, she awakened, far away from home, or from anything she had recognized. Her (not so) strong sense of direction led her back home after weeks of wandering. Upon returning, she had nearly all of the same problems as when Tenet had first found her; she was skinny from not getting to eat much, and covered in scars from battles and from the long adventure itself.
Shiba decided to search through one of the old herbal-brewing books to find instructions some sort of healing brew, which is when she discovered a notebook that she had been noticing Tenet writing in for years. She quickly flipped through the notebook, discovering a note that described perfectly the horrible events of the night before. Something about the ritual done on her had led to her and Tenet being attacked. This made Shiba angry. Though she knew nothing of what had been happening with her father and his notebook of possible prophecies and foretelling of the future, Shiba made a promise that even if it took years, she would find her father, and bring justice to the ones who had taken him away.
As normal Shiba, she could only hope for her father's return, but behind her other identity of the Lunar Claw, she could avenge.
